Our Leadership Team
Jesse began working at Thomas Allen in 2012 in the Finance division. In 2014, Jesse was appointed Operations Director. Though continuing some work in Finance, his duties extended into new areas. In communicating with numerous departments, he gained valuable strategic insight from the different leaders at Thomas Allen to ensure the day-to-day operations ran smoothly. April 1, 2017 Jesse became a co-owner of Thomas Allen, and assumed the Chief Operations Officer role. In January 2023, Jesse expanded his role as the Chief Financial Officer alongside Chief Operations Officer when the original owners retired. At this time, a partnership was formed with Kari Schuster as co-owner. Jesse has a B.A. degree in Economics/ Management from the University of Minnesota.
Kari came to Thomas Allen in 2006 as a Contracted Case Manager. Since then, Kari has held multiple management positions within the same division. In 2016, she became Assistant Administrator over Case Management & Managed Care. In 2021, Kari moved into the role of Executive Director, where she oversees all service operations, as well as the Training and Human Resources departments. Kari holds a Master's in Social Work from Augsburg University, and is licensed by the MN Board of Social Work as a Licensed Independent Social Worker.
Rachel came to Thomas Allen in 2008 as a Contracted Case Manager. Since then, she has held many positions in that same division. In 2011 when the unit was expanded to provide Care Coordination services with health plans, Rachel was the first Care Coordinator to provide these services before stepping into the role as Program Manager. As Program Director, Rachel supervised over 20 Care Coordinators that provide Care Coordination services to several health plans. Rachel was promoted to Assistant Administrator in the Case Management division in July 2021. Rachel has B.A.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota at Duluth.
Susan joined Thomas Allen in November 2013 after working in the field for 12 years. Originally trained to be an educator, Susan was inspired by the inclusive environment with people of all abilities learning from each other. Susan supported six residential programs overseeing program management and quality assurance through 2021. In January 2022 she assumed a combined role as Assistant Administrator and Program Director. Susan has a B.M. in Education from Cornell College.
Joni joined Thomas Allen in October 2022. She oversees all aspects of the finance department, including supervision of finance team members, and also oversees the Community Employment division. Her bio will be forthcoming.
Jim joined the Thomas Allen Finance department in 1993. Prior to that he spent 10 years working as a cost/budget accountant in a hospital environment. He oversees all accounting functions including payroll, general ledger, billings, government reporting, the company’s 401K profit sharing plan, and also computer/network operations. There are a total of 8 staff in the Finance/I.S. department attending to all of the company’s financial and I.S. operations and needs. He has a B.A. degree in Business Administration/Accounting.
Beckey began her employment with Thomas Allen in May of 2013. With over 30 years of experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, she brings a wealth of experience in all areas of Human Resources. A true Generalist, managing the H.R. department and staff is an important part of her role with Thomas Allen. Beckey has a B.S. degree in Sociology from the University of Minnesota, and her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation through the Human Resources Certification Institute.
Diane started employment in April 1985. She held multiple progressive positions, includng program director for 26 years in residential services. She also directed non-residential services including Supported Employment and the Training Division, and started and directed the Nurse Consultants division. Responding to the company’s need for an increased digital presence, Diane began a Marketing division in January 2018. She assumed the combined role of Director of Training and Marketing in July 2020. Diane has a BA degree in Human Services Administration with a minor emphasis in Communications/Writing
Emily joined Thomas Allen in 2015 as a Scott County Contracted Case Manager working with the DD waiver. Since joining Thomas Allen, she has held multiple positions and worked with several counties that Thomas Allen contracts with. Emily has been a Case Manager, Assistant Program Manager, Program Manager, and now serves as a Program Director for our Chisago, Dakota, and Hennepin Long-Term Care teams. Emily holds a Bachelor's of Social Work degree from St. Cloud State University and is licensed by the MN Board of Social Work as a Licensed Social Worker.
Kim came to Thomas Allen in 2016 as a Contracted Case Manager working with Hennepin, Anoka and Goodhue Counties. In 2017, Kim took on an additional roles as Trainer for Thomas Allen’s Contracted Case Management and Care Coordination division as well as Program Manager for a newly established contract with Wright County. In Kim’s current role as Program Director, she oversees Wright and Ramsey Contracted Case Management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and is a Licensed Social Worker through the MN Board of Social Work.
Christa came to Thomas Allen in 2012 as a Contracted Case Manger working with Dakota County. Over time, she was promoted to Program Manager and then part-time Program Director in February 2019. Christa supervises over 20 Case Managers who provide Case Management services to Hennepin and Dakota County. Christa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work degree from Southwest Minnesota State University and is licensed by the MN Board of Social Work as a Licensed Social Worker.
Nikki joined the Thomas Allen Team in October 2021. She has worked in the field for more than 13 years and has supported individuals of all ages and abilities across a variety of settings and also has experience in Case Management and as a CNA. Nikki currently oversees 5 residential settings. Nikki has an M.S. in Human Behavior from Capella University.
Anne joined Thomas Allen in 2012 as a Hennepin County Contracted Case Manager working with the DD Waiver. She was promoted to Program Manager in 2014 and then briefly had a combined Assistant Program Manager role before going full-time as a Program Manager. She supervised Case Managers working with numerous counties. In 2018, she transferred to the LTC division to become a Program Manager overseeing Case Managers working with Anoka County. In 2021, Anne was promoted to Program Director part-time in combination with her Program Manager role. Anne has a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from St. Cloud State University and she is currently in pursuit of a Master’s of Public Administration degree from Hamline University. She is licensed by the MN Board of Social Work as a Licensed Social Worker.
Kelli started at Thomas Allen in 2012 as a Program Manager, assumed an Assistant Program Director role in 2019, and oversees residential services in the Chaska and Shakopee area since 2021. Kelli received her BS degree in Corporate and Community Health Promotion through the University of Wisconsin-Superior, with a minor in Communications.
Roxanne came to Thomas Allen on March 7, 2018 to oversee services in 6 of our residential homes. Prior to her arrival, Roxanne worked in the health care industry as a TMA and staffing coordinator for 13 years. She then worked 3.5 years as an Operational Program Director overseeing services in multiple residential homes that specialized in high medical and behavioral needs in Washington County. Roxanne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Lezlee began her career with Thomas Allen in 1986 as a Program Manager of two 4 bed community based residential facilities. About a year later when a new division at Thomas Allen was formed, Lezlee joined the Contracted Case Management Division. Lezlee worked as a Contracted Case Manager for several large counties in southern Minnesota before stepping into the role of Program Manager. Now as Program Director, Lezlee supervises a staff of 20 case managers that provide case management services to approximately 1000 individuals with developmental disabilities and related conditions under contracts with 20 county social service agencies throughout the state of Minnesota. Lezlee has a B.S. degree in Social Work and is a Licensed Social Worker by the MN Board of Social Work.
After a number of years in the Human Services field working in varying capacities, Peg started with Thomas Allen in 2013. Initially in Care Coordination with the Blue Cross/Blue Shield division, she later added Case Management in St Louis County. As that contract grew, Peg became the Program Manager of a new office in Duluth, supervising an ever-growing team of Case Managers and Care Coordinators. In recent months, Peg became the Program Director for Thomas Allen’s contracts with St Louis County, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Medica. Peg has a BA degree in Sociology/Human Services from the University of Minnesota, and is a Licensed Social Worker.
Emily came to Thomas Allen in August 2014 as a Contracted Case Manager working with Hennepin County. Over time, she was promoted to Program Manager and then part-time Program Director in 2018. As a Program Director, Emily oversees the licensed supervision department and case management training division. Emily holds a Master's degree in Social Work from St. Catherine University and is licensed by the MN Board of Social Work as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
Michelle Joined Thomas Allen in November of 2013 as a Primary Program Counselor. In April of 2014 she was promoted to the Program Manager role, then in 2018 she moved into the Assistant Program Director role which she held through 2021. In January 2022 she was promoted to Program Director. Michelle came to Thomas Allen with 10 years of experience in the field. She worked as an EMT and attended Mankato Community College.
Phina has worked in the human services industry since 2007. She started off working as a PCA in a group home while attending college. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Saint Mary’s University, St. Paul. After college, Phina worked for another disability services provider for 5 years as a site supervisor overseeing two of their independent living apartments providing services to individuals diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury and developmental disabilities. She worked with another area social services provider as an Operational Program Director for another 6 years before joining Thomas Allen in mid-2022. Prior to Thomas Allen, Phina oversaw 6 residential group homes with individuals with both mental health diagnoses and physical disabilities. She acquired a Master’s degree in 2019 in Health and Human services Administration from Saint Mary’s University, Minneapolis. Phina has a passion for working in health and human services.
Brooklyn was hired in May of 2018 to Thomas Allen as an Assistant Program Director. Brooklyn oversees the Community Living Services division, along with two CRS homes. Prior to working at Thomas Allen she spent many years in a career in Therapeutic Recreation working with the aging community. She also spent a year abroad teaching English in Taiwan. In January of 2022 Brooklyn was promoted to Program Director of the Scattered Sites and Support Services divisions.
Chris was hired at Thomas Allen in October 2004 as an Assistant Program Director for 8 programs. In addition, in 2005 Chris joined the Support Services and Subcontract teams as a QIDP. While the programs Chris helped to oversee changed over the years, most recently Chris was the Assistant Program Director working with the Subcontracts division, as well as three of Thomas Allen’s CRS homes. In January 2022, Chris was promoted to Program Director of the Subcontracts division. Chris holds a Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. She has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities since 1994.
